Why do I need iStaySafe?
In the event of a Covid-19 infection of one of your guests, the hosts are obliged to be able to list all other guests who were in your establishment at the same time. iStaySafe makes this easy.

Why iStaySafe?
They help hosts to meet the requirements without revealing your personal information. You no longer need to fill out paperwork or touch lists and pens. We only collect your mobile phone number and work 100% GDPR compliant. Your data will be automatically deleted after the legally prescribed time (usually 4 weeks).

What does iStaySafe cost?
The service is free for you as a guest.

Why do I have to give my mobile number?
So that we can give your number to the public health department in an emergency and they will contact you. In this way, chains of infection can be quickly interrupted and you protect your relatives and friends.

Why do I need to confirm my mobile phone number?
We have to make sure that your number is correct, so that you can be contacted in an emergency.

Do I have to enter my mobile number every time I check in?
No, once you have confirmed your mobile number, you can check in with any iStaySafe hosts without having to register again. All you need to do is scanning the QR code with your smartphone's camera.

What data is stored and what happens to it?
We only store your mobile phone number. If you check in with a host, we also save the time and host. If you provide a table number and/or a number of companions (optional), we will also store this information. The check-in data is automatically deleted after the legally prescribed time. If you have been in contact with a Covid-19 case, we will give the check-in data to the appropriate health authority. Your data will be GDPR compliant and stored on servers in Germany.

How do I register?
Simply scan the QR code at your host's location with the camera app of your smartphone. Confirm the opening of the website and follow the registration process. Enter your mobile phone number in the format +49 171 1234567 and click on "Register". In the next window, enter the 6-digit code that we will send you by SMS. Confirm it and you can check in. Next time you can check in directly and you don't have to register again.

How do I check in?
Simply scan your host's QR code with your smartphone's camera app and confirm that the web page is open. If necessary, enter the table number and/or number of accompanying persons from your household (persons from outside the household must check in themselves) and press "Check-In".

What happens in an emergency?
Should a Covid-19 case occur at one of our hosts, they will be contacted by the responsible health authority and must provide all potential contact persons. The host will then contact us and we will inform the health department. The public health department will then contact you if necessary.

Why do I need iStaySafe?

iStaySafe is easier, faster and cheaper than paper! It works completely contactless and you have no paperwork. iStaySafe only works with verified mobile phone numbers without a name and has a high acceptance rate among guests. You don't have to manage the guest data yourself.

What does iStaySafe cost?
The service is free for you as a host and of course also for your guests.

How do I register?
Just go to www.istaysafe.net. Click on Register, enter your data there and print out your personal check-in documents.

What do I do with the check-in documents?
It is best practive to place the QR code directly at the entrance (alternatively on menus etc.) of your establishment and oblige each guest to show you the confirmation for the check-in on their smartphone.

What happens if I am contacted by the health authority?
You just give our contact to the health department and we will take care of the rest.
